Upgrading 2021 - What wants to be nourished?

At the start of every year, many people make goals to start something new or crack a habit that is no longer serving them (remember every habit does have a positive intention).

Many New Year’s resolutions include exercising more, clean eating, being more positive, etc.  Remember though that being healthy is not just about working out and eating healthy; it also includes the  health of your mind and soul.  So I challenge you to listen to your body’s wisdom, as it’s always sending signals, and to understand what you really need in 2021.

Maybe it’s giving yourself permission to rest, connecting with a friend or family member, alone time with a spouse, more time alone, time in nature, letting go of beliefs that hold you back, letting go of control, setting boundaries, speaking up, meditating, self-reflection, being present, reading more, etc.

Maybe it’s just putting your self-care to the top of the priority list in 2021, since probably most of 2020 you were taking care of kids at home or family or something with work, and most likely putting the needs of others before your own (it’s always better to take care of others on a full tank of gas, rather than running on empty).

Or maybe you do need a kick in the butt to move more or include more veggies and less processed food in your meals.

Whatever it is, do what is right for you now; what worked for you 2 years ago, might not be what best nourishes you now.  We are so hard on ourselves, so be gentle with yourself, especially coming off 2020!

Sending positive vibes and love to you in 2021! Cheers to an upgraded year!
