The Power of Attitude

At the end of last week, I was lucky enough to be able to attend an in person workshop in Houston, Texas to learn more and expand my knowledge as I build Nourish By Tara.  I left there feeling so inspired and motivated, with many things that resonated with me.  There’s SO much I want to share!

There were so many amazing speakers who led the sessions and they were so captivating.  One of the many was John Maxwell, a leadership mentor, who has worked with many celebrities like Steve Harvey (one of my favorites).  His statement “Attitude - the difference maker in our lives” really stuck with me; attitude and mindset is something I am very intentional about nourishing everyday.  I truly believe it has a huge impact on my day to day happiness and mood.

Life is filled with chaos and things will happen to us, sometimes not good things, but it’s our decision on how to handle it and move forward.  We do need to process our feelings, and go through IT rather than resist, but we are the creators of our experience.  We get to decide everyday how happy or how miserable we want to be!

Focusing on the negative will never serve you.  What you focus on will determine your results.  If you focus on the negative, you get negative emotions, leading to negative decisions, and then negative outcomes.  Focusing on the positive will get you the opposite!

How can we write a better script than what’s going on in our heads?  We all face challenges everyday, whether big or small like your 6 year old slamming the car door into the parked car next to her…. with the driver in the car!   You need to rewrite your script and do it everyday.

How do we do that?

Look beyond your mistakes and delusions of unworthiness, and give yourself permission to hold yourself as your most radiant and aligned self; practice self-compassion and self-love.

We are so prone to need something to fix -  live in a frequency that holds a reality you prefer.  That’s how you pull your inspired future and even just the rest of your day towards you.

What does it feel like to act in the spirit of courage? Think about how that feels to you. Courage is acting in spite of fear.

Practice stabilizing these feelings and moving away from struggle and to inspiration.  This is the default way and the old way is gone.

Say to yourself “I am willing to grow a nervous system that can endure massive amounts of positive energy for longer and longer periods of time.”
